It's Labor Day , but I'm not going to give you a hard time if you don't feel like celebrating. The Department of Labor released its latest employment figures recently, and they aren't good. As of Sept. 4, 2009, the unemployment rate stood at 9.7 percent , its highest level since June 1983. Kind of puts a damper on the backyard barbecue, doesn't it? The news isn't all bad, though.
